Is molding paste used so the fabric becomes stiff? Why not matte medium? Does it soak in too much? This is all new to me. Will experiment!

Sharon..the molding paste does make the fabric slightly stiff but still very flexible so it ends up being more sturdy. It makes great surfaces for projects like art journal covers or art quilts. It doesn’t soak through the fabric. It sits on top of the fabric unless you have a fabric with a large weave. I always keep a piece of deli paper or freezer paper underneath just in case it goes through the fabric. have fun experimenting!

Quick Question- what are the benefits of tissue paper vs. deli paper for the graffiti technique?
Reply by Traci Bautista on November 18, 2014 at 7:33pm
Robin..tissue paper will dry more transparent than deli paper…any of the white will disappear. Deli paper is thicker so it won’t be as see thru. Also some deli papers have a slightly satin/glossy surface, so that will effect how it adheres to the canvas.
